C&C Marine was founded in 2002 from an idea by Nicola Odone, now the company’s CEO: to create two specialised business units capable of responding to the evolving needs of the marine industry.
From that initial spark, two parallel and complementary paths emerged.
E-Navigation and digital bridge solutions
The first division focuses on e-navigation and the development of digital bridge solutions. Supported by collaborations with leading companies in the sector, we have closely followed the transition towards digital nautical charts and advanced navigation systems, ensuring vessels are always equipped with cutting-edge technology.
The evolution of Sign Makers: from safety to visual identity
Alongside our navigation tech, the Sign Makers division was born. Initially, the focus was on meeting strict technical and safety requirements: complying with SOLAS fire protection regulations and providing technical onboard signage.
Over time, however, the role of signage has evolved significantly. What was once purely functional has become an essential part of the passenger experience and the ship’s very identity. Today, we design custom solutions where functionality and aesthetics work seamlessly together:
- Wayfinding systems: guiding passenger flow and helping guests navigate the ship naturally.
- Custom spaces: bespoke solutions for wellness areas, theatres, shopping zones, and tailored onboard environments.
- Ship’s name: designing and installing the ship’s name on the hull – a major technical feat with letters and installations that can exceed 25 metres in length.
What began more than twenty years ago as a response to specific technical regulations is today an ongoing industrial and creative journey, project after project.
